Grand Crusader! I honestly don't have too much to say. We should have gotten it a lot sooner (and we had SEVERAL close calls over the course of October and November, with as much as a 3% wipe on Anub'arak one week with 50 attempts), but I'm glad that it's done and that we got it before 3.3 hit. Going forward I fully expect our guild to succeed in Icecrown, hopefully surpassing our success in Ulduar. If you're interested in being a part of this environment, the progression push, and the competitive race to be one of the best in Icecrown and Cataclysm, feel free to apply. We are currently looking for the following: WE ARE RECRUITING 1x Holy Paladin
(1 - 2x) Rogues
1x Exceptional Hunter
1x Exceptional Priest (Should be extremely skilled at all 3 specs) 1x Exceptional Restoration DruidAs it goes without saying, our expectations are that you will be a skilled and capable player, able to jump in and progress through the most difficult hard modes with us. You should have adequate experience from the more difficult fights (Ulduar Hard Modes, ToGC-25, Sunwell is a plus) and be able to excel at your role and class. Ideal applicants will be able to play any spec of their class and transition seamlessly from one role to another, but at the very least, they should exhibit sufficient mastery of their main role. You should be enthusiastic, consistent, reliable, and motivated. Your internet and computer should be extremely stable. We need people we can depend on. We raid four nights a week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 7:00 PM EST to 12:30 AM EST. Trials are expected to maintain 100% Raid Attendance! This is your chance to get into a top end US guild, so if you're interested, apply! You can apply via the process outlined here: --> http://piechart-guild.com/index.php?showtopic=91Good luck! |

Anub'arak the Sequel DOWN!

Pie Chart has earned the achievement [A Tribute to Mad Fail]! We did earn a Tribute to Skill, with 43 attempts. Boo at not having 45, but there's always next week! After six weeks of dealing with bullshit disconnects, roster issues, losing our main tank, severe attendance problems, horrible raid compositions, and shitty strategies, we came in last night and six shot him with a new strategy. Oops. Probably should have figured that one out sooner. The kill should have come awhile ago, but all things said and done, we still managed to rebound against some rough odds and that's good enough for now. The fight itself isn't that hard mechanically or strategically, it's just the execution that can be rough, which can be curbed with a few extra weeks of gear and a better suited raid comp. All in all, I'm glad that we're done with Blizzard's worst content patch ever (maybe 2nd worst, voice chat was pretty horrible), and I'm looking forward to what could potentially be Blizzard's best content patch to date and the couple months of relaxed raiding between now and then. I also wanted to thank those who couldn't be there tonight and give a shout out to Trox and Necrojester who accidentally hearthed out before the week of our kill, and as such, couldn't be there. Better luck next time bud. |

Alone in the Darkness!

Alone in the Darkness!

Home Alone In the Darkness... Epic. Of all our kills in Ulduar, it is fitting that our last was our most epic. This fight is actually pretty amazing and easily the hardest in Ulduar. I am continuously at awe when considering how difficult it must have been pre-nerf, but post-nerf, it is certainly no walk in the park. We pulled out all the stops and everyone pitched in an excellent effort tonight to secure the kill. We went from disheartening wipes in Phase 2 last week, to various sub 6% wipes tonight, until we called in Macaulay to help seal the deal. The progression and playstyle required on this fight is really unique and demands an impressive combination of sheer numbers and execution. I personally think this fight is harder than Freya3, and easily harder than Algalon. We've come a long way in Ulduar, finishing, for the moment at 79th World Wide and 34th in the US (14th for Horde-US). Luckily, we still have a couple weeks to relax before hitting the new and eagerly anticipated hard modes in the Coliseum. I wanted to thank Shinik, who couldn't be there tonight due to kangaroo's chewing out his modem and I also wanted to congratulate everyone on a job well done. And last, but certainly not least... Congratulations Roxorion on Mimiron's Head! See you in a couple weeks! |
