Pretty sure as long as you can send me the files and I can use them in AfterEffects, either will be fine. Might have to try it before I know for sure.

what format does twitch let you take them out in? super compressed mp4?

edit: This should be the same steps the website schrei linked is doing. This is the only way to get the file AFAIK because it's all that twitch saves.
If you use chrome,
1. go to a twitch past broadcast page
2. Right click and go to Inspect Element
3. Resources Tab
4. Frames -> XHR -> some video file URL, it should look similar to this
